‘Surround: From Bush to Bay’ by Belinda Peel

Art exhibition - Saturday Sep 7-11

Belinda Peel third solo exhibition, ‘Surround: From Bush to Bay’ is a representation of Belinda’s time bushwalking and exploring natural habitats and photographing the wildlife along the way. “In 2019 I was inspired to purchase a digital camera after spotting a Sacred Kingfisher at my local creek. My interest and love for wildlife and my surrounds grew significantly. Going bird watching had given me a desire to paint more in my own studio. I have found water-mixable oils on canvas best suits my style and theme, giving the paintings a stronger sense of feeling and better capturing the atmosphere. I have met some challenges along the way, which has helped me further develop my ability and artistic style. The show also includes my recent explorations in water colour on paper, textile sculptures and video stop motion animation.”
