Empathy presents a flowing program of ambient and hypnotic electronic music in a reconfigured photographic studio at KEPK Art Space, Indooroopilly. In addition to celebrating the release of Olympic Pool Maintenance League’s debut vinyl EP on Diffuse Reality, the event will provide a rave experience that encourages contemplation and ritual.
Olympic Pool Maintenance League is electronic music producer and contemporary artist Chris Bennie. OPML has released on major labels including Mord (Bareknuckle Boxing Vol 1-3, Herdersmat Parts 34-40), Postdynamic (New Faces 1+2), and Natura Viva (Tornado).
Supporting Olympic Pool Maintenance League will be hypnotic maestro NDR 924, and Brisbane’s Essential Clubbers Radio Show host DJ Mofo, ensuring a curated program of increasing intensity.
OPMLs Empathy EP contains 3 original tracks and two remixes by Head Front Panel and Giorgio Gigli. A limited number of records will be available at the event. The EPs digital release contains a further 7 original tracks available on Bandcamp. All vinyl sales get access to all digital tracks as well.
OPML has produced numerous EPs including Antipodean Logic (Sub Label Recordings); The King of Karaoke (Sub Label Recordings); The Calming Cloud (Pocketmoth); Dawn Wind (Sunora); The Trickster is no Fool (Oni Recordings); and Pipe Dreams (Occultech). OPMLs debut LP The Warp Order was released on Sunora Recordings (Germany) in 2021.
