Madeleine Cocolas Bodies Album Launch
Live performances - Saturday 8 June, 7pm
Bodies explores similarities between bodies of water and human bodies and seeks to blur the boundaries between them. These works incorporate sounds of water I recorded on recent trips to the Australian coastline as well as creeks and waterfalls in Far North Queensland. I have taken these recordings and other recordings of my voice and breath and heavily processed them together with synths and electronics so that the boundaries between field recordings, vocals and electronics are also blurred. These sounds together create sonic collages that move in ways to emulate rhythmic cycles that can be found in both water and humans such as waves, pulses and currents. -Madeleine Cocolas

Unregistered Master Builder Album Launch
Live performances - Friday 31 May, 7pm - 2 am
In an expression of energetic bliss, the full-length self-titled album by Unregistered Master Builder is set to drop in late May.
Following the minor success of "No Rego No Problem" (2018) and "Harshmallow" (2020), Unregistered Master Builder's signature sound—mountains of cascading kick drums, left-field breaks, and collapsing chord progressions—is relentlessly underscored by bass heavy drops. In this release, traces of archaic lobbycore and concrete-laden strings are intercepted by modular and time-stretching techniques. This new album creates an atmospheric sense of bricolage, that builds off previous releases while introducing while building off of over half a decade of musical exploration, listening and curation.
Full lineup coming soon
Tickets $22

MADE NOW MUSIC is delighted to be launching the debut album of the Brisbane juggernaut ensemble sooon.
Supported by the amazing Sarah Gall and Francesca Masel performing the music of Cameron Bower.
ENSEMBLE SOOON
Ensemble Sooon situate themselves at the porous boundaries of improvisation and Indie-classical experimentation, straddling open-form compositions and third-stream structures, using notation as a springboard and as a canvas to explore contemporary notions of individual and collective action through a swirling sonic palette. Martin Kay is a saxophonist and composer with an array of releases from large ensemble Forage, trio Song Fwaa, and his solo tenor sax album chronicling fantastical tardigrade migration patterns. Danielle Bentley is a versatile cellist with an uncanny talent for improvisation and a classical technique to bring the sounds. Nozomi Omote has an astonishing imagination bringing a percussion palette from the everyday object as well as the concert stage.
SARAH GALL
Local pianist Sarah Gall draws on a rich and varied musical life spanning punk to classical, bringing a unique voice to post-genre collaboration. Passionate about the DIY where music is a force for community-building, Sarah was the founder of Browning Street Studios (2008 - 2021) and continues to work as a passionate educator, advocate and champion for the grassroots. As a performer she uses the piano as a "sounding board" within emotional, human and built environments - a type of resonant and relational sonar. Sarah is most comfortable working at the edges of musical forms and notions with performers from many and varied backgrounds. She is currently stoked to be working with Cameron Bower to help realise a number of his new works for solo piano and chamber music settings.
FRANCESCA MASEL
Brisbane-based cellist and music educator Francesca Masel has a strong passion for chamber music and collaboration. She has performed extensively in Australia and overseas at events such as the 2022 Corso Internazionale di Musica in San Vito di Cadore, the 2019 Icicle Creek Chamber Music Festival and frequently with dynamic ensembles including Camerata: Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra and the Australian Youth Orchestra. Francesca graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University with a Graduate Certificate in Music Studies and a Bachelor of Music in Performance. She is excited to be continuing her studies in cello this September at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
